About Tour Guide Kaori S.

Kon-ni-chi-wa. Hello! I'm Kaori, having lived in Tokyo for more than 20 years since I got married with a photographer who lives here. I'm originally from Shizuoka prefecture which has Mt.Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan.

I took 2 working-holiday-visa stays in my younger days. One is in Toronto, Canada, and another is Australia touring by motorcycle. One year respectively.

I love travel both international and domestic, especially by motorcycle. That's why I love helping individual travelers rather than group tours, because I myself love travel freely. Love nature, gardens, trekking, greenery, also anime. My favorite is taking you to the off-the-beaten tracks where I love in Tokyo.

As a national government licensed guide, I've got deep knowledge of Japanese culture and history. I really enjoy talking about Japanese way of life with people from different cultures. We see what you like and talk what you are interested in. That's my style. If you don't know what to want, I can help you with that.

I'm happy to make tailor-made tours only for you (up to 4 people) upon your request.

・Half Day (up to 5 hours) : 32,000 JPY

・Full Day (up to 8 hours) : 48,000 JPY

・Extra hour : 6,000 JPY/hour

I'm quite a sociable person, ( but organized well! ), easy to get along with anybody, including small kids to teenagers.

Private Hakone - one day trip from Tokyo

Surrounded by great nature with Mt.Fuji view, lots of museums and hot springs, Hakone is one of the most popular destinations as a break from Tokyo. By using ”Odakyu Hakone Freepass”, we can enjoy various types of transportations such as Ropeway, Lake Ashi Boat Cruise, cable cars and Tozan Train(mountain tram) to get around. Ending place is arrangeable other than Tokyo.

If you have more than 2 days in Tokyo, exploring one day in East, one day in West would be recommended, since Tokyo is such a huge city. This tour is basically walking tour, using public transportation, but we can take a taxi occasionally upon your request. My Western highlights is more with modern, young, Kawaii culture, and Eastern one is more with tradition and samurai history. Both are making today's Tokyo. Private Mt.Fuji -one day trip from Tokyo

Private Mt.Fuji only for your group, starts/ends at Tokyo. Basic plan takes Express Train from Shinjuku to Kawaguchi-ko (one of the Fuji 5 Lakes) . Transportation options are available such as Express bus and Hired cars/vans on your preferences. My tour is flexible. Feel free to ask me the spots you like to visit. The transportation at the destination is not as good as cities. You might need some support to move smoothly.

“ Wonderful cultural insights!! ”

“ Excellent Custom Tour! ”

My energetic family requested a custom tour to authentic local festivals and flea markets and around the busiest, most intimidating parts of Tokyo, Shibuya and Shinjuku. Kaori was an amazing and fun tour guide! She knew a lot of information about local events and landmarks, showed us how to get around on the train lines nearest our hotel and provided maps, and even lead us to some special landmarks she knew our group would enjoy. She put together a perfect itinerary and helped us make it in time to see everything we wanted to see and eat all the snacks we wanted. She also has great stories about her own travels. I'm very happy to recommend Kaori!
